Substitute Flour for Low Carb Baking

All-purpose flour is one of the culprits which give you lot of carbs that you are not even aware of. Substitute this flour with another type which can give you the same delicious flavor when you use the all-purpose flour. For a change, you may use a portion of whole wheat flour or soy flour in replacement of the all-purpose flour. You may replace one fourth of the recipe with whole wheat flour or soy flour. You may taste a hint of nutty flavor characteristic of a whole grain taste, but nevertheless, using it drastically weighs down your recipes. Soy flour, on the other hand, is often used for pancakes or oven cakes, but in this case, you should use this sparingly, unless the recipe really calls for it.

Cut Down Your Sugar

As for sweetening your favorite cakes, you may cut down on sugar, but making sure that its flavor does not fall short. In some recipes, cutting down one fourth of the sugar does not ruin its taste. You may also use some sugar substitutes, but make sure that these are intended to be used in cooking or baking. Sugar substitutes only sweeten your recipe, unlike sugar which has other functions for your recipe, just like helping the flour rise, in addition to adding color into it.

In cooking your favorite, meals, you may substitute your regular oil with olive oil. Most cooks now prefer using olive oil to cook their favorite dishes, since it has other properties other than complementing the taste of your cooking. Olive oil contains antioxidants, which are considered to give one some healthy advantages. The only problem that you will encounter with olive oil is that it leaves its taste in your dishes, which may alter their real flavor.
